Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was a school teacher while her mother was mother at home. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. Beginning at a very early age McCormick was a singer and dance, and she would frequently present puppet shows to youngsters in the area. When she won her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 years old, Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see what she thought about getting into the entertainment industry. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her first major role in 1964 in a tv commercial for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in 1964, for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the main character in the play Wind It up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, who was selected from over 1500 auditioned children, was cast as the third of three head-to-head daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969) which starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick, in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published In 2008 McCormick revealed how during the fifth season of the show she almost lost the love of her life to her twin brother Barry Williams. In 2008, McCormick revealed in her book, Here's the story: Surviving Marcia and Finding My True Voice that in season five of the show, she nearly lost her virginity to actor Barry Williams. The woman said it might be possible, however it was never the best time to do it.
